Sustainability out of conviction and for our home country

At Bergpracht, we focus on sustainability and responsibility - not only in our production, but also in the preservation of our homeland. By using innovative technologies such as combined heat and power plants and photovoltaic systems as well as utilising waste heat, we reduce our energy consumption and conserve resources. With regional milk and organic milk, we support local agriculture and actively contribute to preserving the typical landscape of the Lake Constance region. Our philosophy combines tradition and innovation to create high-quality products in harmony with nature and at the same time make a positive contribution to the environment and our homeland.

Regional milk

By using regional milk and organic milk from sustainable sources, we not only support local agriculture, but also contribute to preserving the typical landscape of the Lake Constance region.

Own production of electricity

By using a combined heat and power plant, we produce around 2/3 of our electricity ourselves. This reduces our CO2 emissions and makes us less dependent on external power sources.

Utilisation of waste heat

The waste heat from engine cooling and exhaust gases is stored in a heat buffer tank and used for room air conditioning and milk heating. This allows us to utilise energy even more efficiently and reduce overall consumption.

Our photovoltaic system covers around 10% of our electricity consumption and actively contributes to reducing CO2 emissions by integrating renewable energy directly into our production process.

Regionality, animal welfare and love of home

At Bergpracht, we rely on regional milk that comes directly from local farms. For us, this close connection to local agriculture not only means a sustainable supply, but also a responsibility towards the animals and nature. Our milk suppliers pay attention to species-appropriate husbandry and animal care so that we can ensure that only the best milk goes into our cheese. By working closely with farmers from the region, we not only support the local economy, but also actively contribute to the preservation of local agriculture. This keeps our homeland alive and we can be proud to deliver products that are convincing in both flavour and origin.

Responsibility for the environment and resources

We use resources efficiently, minimise waste and reduce our ecological footprint through a wide range of sustainability measures.

We send curd cheese that cannot be used directly to a melting plant, thereby avoiding unnecessary waste. We utilise 100% of the waste heat from our cooling units to heat our buildings and to heat the water used to clean our facilities. In addition, our PV system on the roof generates around a third of our electricity requirements. With these measures, we are focussing on resource-conserving, future-oriented production - for high-quality dairy products with responsibility for our homeland.
